Placid, i think you need to read my question again. I don't think you read it, or if you did you completely missed the point.

Because Breubengarten Void is a poetry freak, and her poetry comes from the heart (If you haven't seen any of her poetry I suggest you go to the chienchat forums and take a look at her poems) She hasn't posted all of her poems yet (She and I are e-pals) like she told me but I think she would go at him because of that.

Why on earth would Void feel she should kick Old Geezer's butt for him expressing his own heartfelt and personally valid feelings? Doesn't he have a right to pick and choose the culture he enjoys partaking?

I like the coffee and I enjoy the atmosphere. There isn't much to offer culturally in a small town so it's welcomed in what ever form is available.

yeah... coffee houses these days are more for the musicians and drama types with their dark clothes and black square rimmed glasses. lol Not many hippies there at all. I like coffee houses, but definitely am not one to spend my weekends there for hours at a time. I go maybe like once a month, if that.

I like poetry. I especially like free mic night at the coffeehouse and never once have I seen a hippie type. *S*

I'm not much on poetry either. Most decent music would be better off without the lyrics, in my opinion. Often times, the music is great but the lyrics get in the way. So if I feel that way about the poetry (lyrics) in music, the imagine how little I'm into someone simply standing in some beatnick coffeehouse on a platform behind a mic wearing hippy sandles, sipping a latte, wearing those little horn-rimmed glasses because they make him look "smart", and reading some poetic drivel about "love and a tree" or whatever. I'd rather be watching a Dirty Harry movie.

Not true always. Most poetry takes a mindset to read it in though. Alas, love is in the eye of the reader - literally.
