Making peace

Has anyone ever had to make peace with impossible family members?

It's impossible to do it in and of ourselfs. The grace that God gives us will enable us to forgive those that have hurt us so deeply. We have to chose not to entertain our human feelings about that person, and estenially say "I hurt because of this person but I chose to respond like God wants." It's hard. But I think that's where we grow in God's love and our faith. When we realize that we might have a good reason to hold on to hurt and be bitter but that God's way may be harder, but is better. It is important that you have peace about the situation and even if the other person does not respond in the best way, you will have made the effort. And if you do reach peace and forgiveness and put it behind you, then the other person will be the only one with the problem.

Such as forgiving something that is almost unforgiveable. Or simply setting your mind to get along with some family members that you have never managed to "click" with. Things along those lines.
