erhmi listen to Christian music *shrugs*. and their are MANY talented bands/singeres out there..it seems liek Christian music is gettin' slammed lately for..i dont know why. yes they got their "Top 40 crud" but therea are good Christian bands out there with talent and a fire for God if you go look. Ask me if you need help..its bout all I listen to...and i am deeply moved by many of these bands

I guess that's why I hardly ever listen to christian programming. When I was young I was more innocent and I was inspired cause I didn't know anything. Now I'm starting to wonder if I've lived too long and just smarter than that. I know most of those songs were written for money or show and sooner or later they don't endure. I can't get excited about stuff that just "comes" and "goes" . things are trendy for a while and then "poof" Oftentimes they don't go "poof" soon enough. I've got some Cds and I can only listen to about a couple songs on each one. The rest are just too emotionalistic. And whatever inspiration I do notice is only because they have a nice tune.

Overplayed songs?? How about most anything that is typically played on most Christian FM radio stations? The top-20 pop-sounding electronically enhanced stuff that all sounds about alike with about the same tempo, and probably based on the same 3 guitar chords. And then the announcer has the guts to say "Now here's the new song from so-in-so", when they have been playing that very song to death every hour for the past 4 months. The radio stations could do so much better if they were not trying to be like the big-time secular radio stations, and push songs into forced hits when they probably wouldn't have gained that much attention on their own. There are plenty of good artists out there who don't seem to get much if any airplay, and a lot more good songs out there than just listening to the small cluster of Christian entertainers who are "in" with the right management and promoters. In so many ways it seems that the Christian music industry is much like the secular music industry, and I think the Christian musicians could do so much better.

Country isn't all bad. Twangy country should be outlawed. How about those rap songs where you can't understand the words - except for the cuss words? Those are spiffy.

How about everything played on the easy listening and country stations they pipe over the PA system at work? I think that's a pretty good start.
