abstinence/unplanned pregnancys etc

Is it completely irrational to think that if a person cannot "afford" or "is not ready" to have a child, then they are not ready to have sex? A friend of mine was pregnant and told me she was going to have an abortion because it wasn't convienient for her and her b/f to have the child. I told her she shouldn't be having sex, period. Now HER nose is out of joint and she's claiming she didn't have a choice. I'm so tired of these people who think they can run around and have sex then just kill a child that is conceived because it doesn't fit into their schedule. To those people, I say, GROW UP! No one is ready or financially prepared, or emotionally prepared to have a child, but God has a purpose for EVERY child that is conceived. If you don't want to end up getting someone pregnant or get pregnant yourself, KEEP YOUR PANTS ON!

Dazey, don't even get me started on that. I met a christian girl who believed that sex was to make babies and the only person to get pleasure from it is the husband...because it's sinful for a wife to enjoy sex.

While I agree with the principal here, it also sounds a lot like the belief of my generation as children that if our parents had two children, they must have only had sex twice....because every one knows there is no other reason for sex...right?

well I was in that situation and Planned Parenthood told me I would never carry a healthy baby to term and I should abort..and they were willing to do it right then and there. I went home to think about it...and I called Mercy Ministries. ( http://www.mercyministries.com ) If it wasn't for them I would be dead and so would Haley. Haley is now 4 years old and I decided to place her up for adoption. We have an open adoption so I still she her once a year or so. So even if she didnt have a choice there are other choices she can make. Just take a bit more maturity.

wow. I'm surprised I haven't gotten all kinds of "you're mean" and "you suck" messages. LOL.

If I ever had a daughter I would put her on the birth control shot as soon as she turned 13. LOL.

mad props to formerhunk, 'cuz i said that, screamed that, and wore sandwich-boards around the cafeteria stating that all through high-school. I like kids, they're cute (as long as they aren't mine! LOL), don't go killin' the cuteness just because you lack the self-control and willpower to be in charge of your body instead of t'other way 'round!!

I think everyone should do that though. If you don't want to get pregnant, don't have sex. Sure it takes a little self-control. But come on, why bring a child into this world that you can't take care of? WHy murder that child because it doesn't fit into your schedule? Think about the child, not just yourself. I say this to ALL people, christian and non christian.

Okay I agree with what you said but telling someone You shouldn't have sex will get them offended and get their noise out of joint if they arn't Christian. If they are Christian ask them to go to a pastor or someone who can help.
