y'know what I think the reason for all the cruddy songs on albums nowadays is, aside from sheer lack of talent? two words: "remix fodder"...lol in 30 years, somebody'll make a song that's almost cool with a riff or a beat or a lyric snag from one of those craptaculous songs I'd throw an album away for....or, then again, maybe not. LOL

hey i got somethin to add........cant be cause of "too sad" because look at demon hunter.......here i will quote! *ahehehehehem* and before i begin mind you i love this music!!!! it ROCKS!!!!!

"EVERY SINGLE TIME I FEEL THE BURN I TRY TO THROW IT AWAY. A FAST FIX FOR THE BROKENNESS OF EVERYDAY. IT'S LIKE THE PAIN IS BUILDING UP, IT'S SWELLING UP. I'VE GOT TO CHOKE IT DOWN AND BREAK IT DOWN UNTIL IT'S BROKE DOWN. IT'S LIKE A SHARD OF GLASS, IT'S LIKE A BROKEN PIECE. OF EVERYTHING I HATE, IT'S EVERYTHING IN ME. A BURNT HEART STAINS BLACK THE BLOOD IT FLOWS. A DEAD SOUL WILL OVERSHADOW. PUSH IT OUT. IT'S EVERYTHING YOU NEVER WERE. PUSH IT OUT. I WANT TO SEE IT SHATTER. AND EVERYDAY I SEE MY LIFE REWIND. TEARING THROUGH DREAMS I FIND I'M WIDE AWAKE.(REPEAT). AND EVEN WHEN IT'S WRONG I START TO LEARN, AND THEN I DO IT AGAIN. I REACH OUT TO GRASP AND GET A BROKEN HAND. AND EVERYONE IS GOING TO TURN THEIR BACKS. I WANT TO TAKE THEM DOWN, AND STRIKE THEM DOWN AND LEAVE THEM STRUCK DOWN. IT'S LIKE I'M MADE TO FAIL WITH EVERYTHING I GAIN. JUST AN INFECTED PEICE IN A DEFECTIVE GAME. MY TWO HANDS GIVE BIRTH TO NOTHING RIGHT. A BLACK PAST IS AN EFFECTIVE FORESIGHT!........"

its christian believe it or not! and i enjoy the growling and screaming throughout the song! and guess what.......lyrics are there......every one of em.......in story layout.......true to the order listed.......btw if you are into metal........or metalcore....this is the way 2 go! l8er Blaze Phoenix

but all of Sixpences other songs were "too sad" (esp on This Beautiful Mess) and they let 'em have lyrics...

My husband thinks it quite likely that the lyrics were left off to get some songs past the record label. The mainstream CCM labels tend to censor songs for not being "happy" enough, or dealing with real life issues. It's among the reasons that so many artists have gone independent.

A perfect example is the 77s "Drowning With Land in Sight." They had a major set-to with their then label over this album because it was too "dark." I think I remember also that when they released "Pray Naked" they weren't even permitted to list the song on the album cover at all so it was put on as a so-called "hidden track." Label freaked out over the word "naked" and didn't want to even consider the meaning of the song.

Yeah, what's with these periods of silence they stick in there? Is it supposed to be some kind of "cool" thing to have a hidden track after a period of silence or something? Idiocy. As long as I'm complaining, something that has annoyed me for decades (because the record companies have been doing this for decades) is the way they put one or two good songs on an album, then fill the rest of the album with garbage that wouldn't otherwise sell very well on it's own. Space filler.

Of course today, with proper marketing techniques, you can take a song that is totally garbage both musically and lyrically and turn it into a hit. Maybe the listening public is just that stupid these days, but it seems that if the entertainment media machine implants a song into our heads through radio, MTV, and whatever, that they can actually force a lousy song to become a hit. It's truly amazing. And yes, that goes for the Christian pop music industry too, since about 99% of them are sold out to the same secular music companies that produce musical wonders of the world like Eminem or Puff_Daddy_Diddly_Squat (or whatever he calls himself this week, aside of a prison number). And some people even have the gall to refer to these pop stars as "heros". Has somebody been spraying some kind of stupidity aerosol over the population or something?

Oh man, i know what you mean. That bites the big one! GRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I also hate it when they don't list the lengths of the songs. Some people (like me) really like to know these things! And i've even seen a couple of CDs where the songs were listed on the cover in a different order from the CD. What the heck is up with that? Do they really enjoy torturing us so? :p

And my biggest complaint is those stupid stupid stupid stoooooopid hidden tracks at the end of the CD. ARRRRRRGGGGG i hate that! Whenever i get a new CD with one of those i immediately rip all the tracks to my hard drive, split the last track into separate songs, then burn a new copy so the hidden track isn't hidden anymore. This also gets rid of the ridiculous 3 or 8 minutes of silence they stick in there. Yuck!
